Product description

A/C Pet 250 is a veterinary prescription antibiotic tablet manufactured by Pazuvet, formulated specifically for oral use in dogs and cats. Each film-coated tablet contains Amoxycillin Trihydrate equivalent to Amoxycillin 200 mg and Potassium Clavulanate Diluted equivalent to Clavulanic Acid 50 mg, creating a broad-spectrum antibiotic combination that may help treat a wide range of bacterial infections. The clavulanate component protects amoxycillin from enzyme-producing resistant bacteria, making this combination more effective than amoxycillin alone. Common infections it may help address include skin and wound infections, urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, and soft tissue infections.

How It Works: Amoxycillin disrupts bacterial cell wall formation, effectively stopping bacterial growth. Potassium Clavulanate acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor, preventing resistant bacteria from breaking down the antibiotic — broadening the drug's effectiveness against a wider range of pathogens.

Dosage Guidelines:

Species Recommended Dose Frequency Route
Dogs 12.5–25 mg/kg body weight Every 12 hours Oral
Cats 12.5 mg/kg body weight Every 12 hours Oral

Note: Dosage should be confirmed by your veterinarian based on the animal's weight, condition, and severity of infection. Do not adjust dose without veterinary advice.

Administration Tips:

  • Give tablet directly or mixed with a small amount of food
  • Complete the full prescribed course — stopping early may contribute to antibiotic resistance
  • Typical treatment duration: 5–7 days, or as directed by your veterinarian
  • If a dose is missed, give as soon as remembered — do not double dose

Contraindications:

Do not use A/C Pet 250 if your pet:

  • Has a known hypersensitivity or allergy to penicillin, amoxycillin, or cephalosporins
  • Has severe hepatic (liver) or renal (kidney) impairment
  • Is a rabbit, guinea pig, hamster, or other small herbivore — may cause potentially fatal gastrointestinal disturbances
  • Is being treated with bacteriostatic antibiotics (e.g., tetracyclines, chloramphenicol) without explicit veterinary guidance
  • Has a history of antibiotic-associated colitis

Common Side Effects:

Most pets tolerate A/C Pet 250 well. However, the following side effects may occur:

  • Vomiting or nausea — most common, especially on an empty stomach
  • Diarrhea or loose stools — monitor hydration levels
  • Loss of appetite or lethargy
  • Skin rash, hives, or itching — may indicate allergic reaction; discontinue use and consult your veterinarian immediately if observed

Drug Interactions: Inform your veterinarian of all medications your pet is currently receiving. A/C Pet 250 may interact with bacteriostatic antibiotics, anticoagulants, and other penicillin-type drugs.

Storage Instructions: Store in a cool, dry, and dark place below 25°C, keep away from direct sunlight and humidity, keep out of reach of children and other pets, do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging, keep in the original packaging until use.
