A/C Pet 250 is a veterinary prescription antibiotic tablet manufactured by Pazuvet, formulated specifically for oral use in dogs and cats. Each film-coated tablet contains Amoxycillin Trihydrate equivalent to Amoxycillin 200 mg and Potassium Clavulanate Diluted equivalent to Clavulanic Acid 50 mg, creating a broad-spectrum antibiotic combination that may help treat a wide range of bacterial infections. The clavulanate component protects amoxycillin from enzyme-producing resistant bacteria, making this combination more effective than amoxycillin alone. Common infections it may help address include skin and wound infections, urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, and soft tissue infections.
How It Works: Amoxycillin disrupts bacterial cell wall formation, effectively stopping bacterial growth. Potassium Clavulanate acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor, preventing resistant bacteria from breaking down the antibiotic — broadening the drug's effectiveness against a wider range of pathogens.
Dosage Guidelines:
| Species | Recommended Dose | Frequency | Route |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dogs | 12.5–25 mg/kg body weight | Every 12 hours | Oral |
| Cats | 12.5 mg/kg body weight | Every 12 hours | Oral |
Note: Dosage should be confirmed by your veterinarian based on the animal's weight, condition, and severity of infection. Do not adjust dose without veterinary advice.
Administration Tips:
- Give tablet directly or mixed with a small amount of food
- Complete the full prescribed course — stopping early may contribute to antibiotic resistance
