Ciprocan-D is a combination ophthalmic and otic (eye and ear) medication containing ciprofloxacin (an antibiotic) and dexamethasone (a corticosteroid). This dual-action formula for veterinary use helps treat bacterial infections while reducing inflammation in the eyes and ears. Ciprofloxacin works by eliminating susceptible bacteria, while dexamethasone may help reduce swelling, redness, and discomfort associated with infections.
Composition Each ml contains:
- Ciprofloxacin HCl I.P. equivalent to Ciprofloxacin 0.3% w/v
- Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate I.P. 0.01% w/v
- Hydroxypropylmethyl Cellulose I.P. 0.25% w/v
- Benzalkonium Chloride Solution I.P. 0.02% w/v (As Preservative)
- Sterile Aqueous Base q.s.
Dosage Guidelines PRESCRIPTION REQUIRED - Your veterinarian will determine the appropriate dosage based on your pet's condition and affected area.
General Dosing Information:
- As directed by the veterinarian
- Administration: Clean affected area before application; gently massage ear base after instilling ear drops
- Use the solution within one month after opening the vial
- Replace the cap after every use
- Shake well before use

Key Contraindications Do not use Ciprocan-D if your pet:
- Has a perforated eardrum (for ear use)
- Has viral or fungal infections (this treats bacterial infections only)

- Has corneal ulcers or wounds (corticosteroids may delay healing)
- Is pregnant or nursing (use with caution under veterinary supervision)

Application Tips:
- Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface since this may contaminate the solution
- Tear off the seal, tighten the cap on the nozzle by turning it as shown, the spike in the cap will pierce the tip of the vial
- Dispense drops with gentle pressure
- Complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve
