MSD Animal Health Bravecto Fluralaner 250 mg chewable tablets for dogs provide long-lasting protection against fleas and ticks for up to 3 months with a single dose. This prescription medication also treats Demodicosis caused by Demodex spp. mites, Sarcoptic mange, and Otodectes spp. mite infestations in dogs. Bravecto is formulated as a highly palatable chewable tablet designed for dogs weighing >4.5–10 kg (approximately 10–22 lbs).
Dosage Guidelines:
PRESCRIPTION REQUIRED – Administer only as directed by your veterinarian.
- Weight Range: >4.5–10 kg (10–22 lbs)
- Dose: 1 chewable tablet (250 mg fluralaner)
- Frequency: Once every 12 weeks (3 months)
- Administration: Give at or around the time of feeding
- Minimum Age: 8 weeks and older
A single treatment of Bravecto also helps prevent transmission of Dipylidium caninum (Dog Tapeworm) from infected fleas to susceptible dogs for 3 months.
Key Contraindications:
- Dogs under 8 weeks of age
- Dogs weighing less than 2 kg (4.4 lbs)
- Known hypersensitivity to fluralaner or tablet ingredients
- Bravecto can be used in breeding, pregnant, and lactating dogs; consult your veterinarian before use
Common Side Effects: Most dogs tolerate Bravecto well. The most commonly reported side effects include: Vomiting, Decreased appetite, Diarrhea, Lethargy, Flatulence. Contact your veterinarian if side effects persist or worsen.
