Product description

Advocate Spot-On Solution is a topical parasiticide for large dogs weighing 10-25 kg. This monthly treatment contains imidacloprid 10% w/v and moxidectin 2.5% w/v to provide protection against fleas, heartworms, intestinal worms, ear mites, sarcoptic mange, and demodicosis in dogs. Each package contains three 2.5 ml pipettes.

Dosage and Application:

For Dogs 10-25 kg:

  • Apply one 2.5 ml pipette monthly as directed by your veterinarian
  • Part the hair between shoulder blades to expose skin
  • Apply entire contents directly onto the skin in 2-3 spots along the back
  • Do not bathe for 48 hours before or after application
  • Reapply every 30 days or as directed by your veterinarian

Application Instructions:

  • Ensure dog's coat is completely dry before application
  • Apply where dog cannot reach to lick
  • Avoid touching treated area until dry
  • Keep children and other pets away from treated dog until application site is dry

Parasites Controlled:

Advocate provides protection against:

  • Fleas (kills adult fleas and larvae, aids in the control of flea allergy dermatitis)
  • Heartworms (monthly preventative when administered according to label directions)
  • Roundworms and hookworms (gastrointestinal parasites)
  • Whipworms
  • Sarcoptic mange mites (Sarcoptes scabiei)
  • Demodicosis (Demodex canis)
  • Ear mites (Otodectes cynotis)
  • Lice

Contraindications and Precautions:

  • This is a prescription medication. Consult your veterinarian before use
  • Do NOT Use For: Puppies under 7 weeks of age, dogs with known hypersensitivity to imidacloprid, moxidectin, or any other ingredients
  • Use with Caution: Sick, debilitated, or underweight dogs should only be treated under veterinary supervision
  • Breed-Specific Considerations: Dogs with MDR1 gene mutation (common in Collies, Shelties, Australian Shepherds, Old English Sheepdogs, and related breeds) may have increased sensitivity to moxidectin. Consult your veterinarian before use in these breeds
  • For external use on dogs only. Do not use on cats or other species
  • Drug Interactions: Inform your veterinarian of all medications and supplements your dog is currently receiving

Common Side Effects:

  • Temporary skin irritation at application site (itching, redness, hair loss)
  • Greasy or wet appearance of coat at application site
  • Mild lethargy
  • Vomiting or diarrhea if product is licked off
  • Seek immediate veterinary attention if: Tremors, excessive drooling, incoordination, severe skin reactions, collapse, or seizures occur

Storage Requirements:

  • Store below 30°C in original packaging
  • Protect from heat and direct sunlight
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets
  • Do not refrigerate or freeze
  • Use within expiration date printed on package
