Zedox 100 Tablets contain Doxycycline Hyclate IP 100 mg, a broad-spectrum antibiotic of the tetracycline class used for treating bacterial infections in dogs and cats.
This is a prescription (Rx) medication. Use only as directed by a licensed veterinarian. Not for human use — for animal treatment only.
Composition:
- Doxycycline Hyclate IP: 100 mg per tablet
- Colour: Yellow Oxide of Iron USP-NF

Indications:
Doxycycline is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections in dogs and cats including:
- Urinary tract infections (UTI)
- Respiratory infections
- Blood-borne and wound infections
- Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever
- Ehrlichiosis
- Leptospirosis
- Wolbachia infections (associated with heartworm disease treatment)
- Tick-borne diseases
- Lyme disease
Dosage & Administration:
- Dosage: For dogs and cats — 5 mg/kg body weight every 12 hours orally, or as directed by your veterinarian.
- The tablet may be given directly or mixed with food.
- Always administer the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve early.
- Do not crush or split tablets unless advised by your veterinarian.
- Always follow your veterinarian's specific dosage instructions.
Contraindications:
- Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to doxycycline or other tetracycline-class antibiotics.
- Avoid use in young puppies and kittens — tetracyclines may affect bone and tooth development in growing animals.
- Avoid use in pregnant and lactating animals without explicit veterinary direction.
- Use with caution in animals with pre-existing liver or kidney disease.
- Do not combine with antacids, dairy products, or calcium supplements without veterinary guidance, as these may reduce absorption.
Side Effects:
- Nausea, vomiting, or loss of appetite — administering with food may help reduce this.
- Mild diarrhoea or digestive upset.
- Photosensitivity — limit prolonged sun exposure during treatment.
- Oesophageal irritation — always ensure the animal drinks water after tablet administration.
If any severe reaction, facial swelling, or difficulty breathing is observed, discontinue use and contact your veterinarian immediately.
Storage Instructions: Store in a cool, dry, dark place below 30°C, protect from light and moisture, keep out of reach of children and animals, do not use after expiry, and keep in original packaging until use.
