You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. Metrogyl is an oral suspension containing metronidazole benzoate, an antibiotic and antiprotozoal medication used to treat various bacterial and parasitic infections in dogs and cats. This prescription medication is effective against anaerobic bacteria and certain protozoa, commonly used for gastrointestinal infections, giardiasis, and inflammatory bowel conditions.

Primary Uses

  • Treatment of giardiasis and other protozoal infections

  • Management of anaerobic bacterial infections

  • Support for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)

  • Treatment of certain dental and oral infections

Dosage Guidelines

Always follow your veterinarian's specific instructions. Dosage varies based on the condition being treated, animal weight, and individual health factors.

General Guidelines:

  • Dogs: Typically 10-25 mg/kg body weight, given twice daily

  • Cats: Typically 10-25 mg/kg body weight, given twice daily

  • Duration: Usually 5-10 days depending on condition

  • Administration: Give with food to reduce stomach upset

Key Contraindications

  • Pregnancy/Nursing: Not recommended for pregnant or lactating animals

  • Serious Side Effects (Seek Immediate Veterinary Care): Neurological signs (head tilting, seizures, disorientation, tremors), severe allergic reactions, and blood in urine or stool.

Storage Requirements: Store at room temperature (20–25 °C / 68–77 °F), keep the bottle tightly closed, protect from light and moisture, keep out of reach of children and pets, shake well before use, and check the expiration date before administration.

Important Safety Information

  • Drug Interactions: Metronidazole may interact with certain medications including warfarin, phenobarbital, and cimetidine. Inform your veterinarian of all medications and supplements your pet is taking.
